Visitors information

Last updated 2 December, 2021

We are pleased to advise that effective immediately we will be increasing the number of visitors per patient from one to two visitors per day provided they are fully vaccinated (ie have had two doses of a TGA-approved COVID-19 vaccine).

Visitors must:

  • Show evidence of their vaccination status to staff before entry.
  • Check in at the Nurses Station at the ward they are visiting.
  • Wear a surgical mask upon entry and for the entire time of their visit.
  • Scan and register with the Service NSW QR code on display before entry.

Visitors who have a valid medical exemption or are not fully vaccinated must contact the hospital for approval prior to visiting.

In areas with patients at higher risk or receiving higher levels of care, there may be additional restrictions and precautions:

  • Expectant mothers can have one fully vaccinated support person who has returned a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours before arriving at the hospital.
  • End-of-life visitors will be limited to the extent necessary to minimise risk and are reviewed on a case by case basis by DON or delegate.
  • Patients attending consulting suites and third party providers (i.e. imaging) who have a valid medical exemption or are not fully vaccinated must contact their service providers for approval prior to visiting.
    • Have been to areas with recent local transmission of COVID-19 in NSW and any interstate affected areas in the last 14 days.
    • Have any clinical symptoms of COVID-19.
    • Are a close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19.
    • Are currently in quarantine or home isolation.
    • Live in a household with a person who is currently in quarantine or isolation.
    • Are waiting for a COVID-19 test result.

We will be refusing entry to any visitors who:
